It is the first time Ochoa will travel with any Mexican National Team. Previously, he represented the United States, however, after much consideration, discussion, and thought, he ultimately decided that his international future will be with El Tri and the Mexican National Team.
Since making the announcement on August 12th, Ochoa has not seen any national team call-up, until now.
Following the matches in Spain, Ochoa will return to Real Salt Lake where he will play a pivotal role in helping his club make a post-season birth. This season has marked the first consistent year that Ochoa has starred at the club level, his two best performances have come against Carlos Vela of LAFC and Chicharito of the LA Galaxy.
When asked if there is any coincidence that his two best games have come against two El Tri heroes, Ochoa said that he “does not know why he has performed so well against them” but was thinking about it during halftime of Real Salt Lakes most recent 2-1 win against the Galaxy and was chuckling about it.
Real Salt Lake Next Fixture
Real Salt Lake will not play until October 16th due to the current international window.
On October 16th they will host the Colorado Rapids in a game that will determine the Rocky Mountain Cup. The match is slated to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and will be available to stream via the KSL Sports & KSL 5 TV apps or on KSL Sports dot com.
