Dixie State Scores Late TD To Prevent Shutout In Blowout Loss To South Dakota State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Dixie State Trailblazers scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to prevent a shutout in a blowout loss to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The Jackrabbits hosted the Trailblazers in Brookings, South Dakota on Saturday, October 2.
South Dakota State defeated Dixie State, 55-7.

With six seconds left in the game, Kobe Tracy connected with Cade Veach for a 16-yard touchdown and Dixie State’s first score of the contest.
The touchdown cut SDSU’s lead to 55-7 and prevented the Trailblazers from being held scoreless on the road.
After Dixie State and South Dakota State were tied a 0-0 following the first 15 minutes of action, the Jackrabbits scored 35 points in the second quarter of play to take a commanding lead into the locker room at halftime.

SDSU added one touchdown in the third quarter and 13 more points over the final 15 minutes.
Dixie State played two quarterbacks during the contest.
Trailblazers QB Kenyon Oblad was 14/25 passing for 126 yards and two interceptions.
Tracy finished the game 13/22 passing for 112 yards, one touchdown, and two picks.

Veach ended with three catches for 55 yards and a score.
With the loss, the Blazers fell to an 0-4 record this season.
Dixie State’s next game on the road is against the Montana Grizzlies on Saturday, October 9 at 1 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
