Two years ago, Utah State football wore another variation of blackout uniforms against BYU. The differences between this year’s blackout and the 2019 version center around the numbers and the facemask.
During that 42-14 defeat against BYU, the blackout threads for Utah State featured navy blue numbers with a nickel chrome facemask. This year it’s white numbers with a white facemask. Quarterback Logan Bonner was prominently featured in the promotional images building up excitement for Friday night’s game that already had a ton of buzz in the Cache Valley.
BYU will be wearing a white uniform with royal blue pants and a white helmet with royal blue decals that features a chrome “Giff facemask.”
This will be Utah State’s fourth different uniform combination in as many games this season.
