BYU Football Unveils Uniform Combination For Utah State Game

PROVO, Utah – New week, new uniform combination this week for BYU football during the 2021 season.

This weekend, BYU travels up to Logan for their first true road game of the year to take on in-state rival Utah State. It’s the annual battle for the Old Wagon Wheel, and the Cougars are going with a look that garnered a lot of praise last season.

BYU will be wearing the nickel “Giff” facemask on a white helmet with royal blue decals. They’ll also be wearing a white uniform with royal blue pants.

This look was worn last season during the Cougars win at Houston, the first game in 2020 that had fans in attendance. BYU rallied to win that game 43-26. Like the USU game this week, that Houston matchup was also the fifth game of the season and they were in the top 15 of the rankings.

BYU enters this week’s Wagon Wheel game ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25 poll with a 4-0 record.

Last year’s “Giff” facemask was a matte gray finish. This year’s “Giff” has a chrome-nickel look that will be worn for the second time this season. The other time BYU wore the “Giff” this year was against fellow in-state rival Utah.

vs. Arizona (Las Vegas) – Royal Rush (Win, 24-16)

UTAH – Royal blue uniform, white pants, white helmet with royal decal plus 9/11 tribute (Win, 26-17)

ARIZONA STATE – All-white uniform with royal blue accents (Win, 27-17)

USF – Navy blue uniform with a white helmet, white pants (Win, 35-27)

at Utah State – White helmet with royal blue decals and “Giff” facemask, white jersey, royal blue pants
