Former Orem Tiger Alohi Gilman Snags First Career Interception During Chargers/Chiefs Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Orem Tigers and current Los Angeles Chargers safety Alohi Gilman picked off Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for his first career interception.
The Chiefs hosted the Chargers on Sunday, September 26.
With 1:55 left in the fourth quarter, Mahomes sailed a pass over his intended target, Travis Kelce, and into the hands of Gilman.
It was the former Orem standout’s first interception as an NFL player.

Prior to his time in the NFL, Gilman played college football at Notre Dame and high school football in Utah and Hawai’i.
Los Angeles held off Kansas City for a 30-24 win.
Gilman finished the game with seven total tackles, seven solo tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception.
With the win, the Chargers improved to a 2-1 record this season.

Los Angeles’ next game is against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, October 4 at 6:15 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN.
