SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid left Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance and was transported to the hospital following the team’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs hosted the Chargers on Sunday, September 26.

Kansas City suffered a 30-24 loss to Los Angeles.

On Sunday night, the Chiefs confirmed Reid’s trip to the hospital and said the coach was “doing well, currently resting & in stable condition.”

After the game, NFL Network’s James Palmer was the first to report that the former BYU player and graduate assistant was feeling sick, would not address the media, and was taken away from the Chiefs’ stadium in an ambulance.

“Chiefs announced Andy Reid was feeling ill, so he did not address media out of caution. I can confirm he left the stadium in an ambulance,” Palmer tweeted. “Players didn’t know he wasn’t feeling well and were told he should be ok. Everything is pointing toward the Chiefs taking every precaution.”

CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported that Reid leaving in an ambulance was a precautionary move.

“Andy Reid’s removal from the stadium via ambulance is precautionary I’m told,” La Canfora tweeted. “He wasn’t feeling great and was dehydrated but no serious concern about him medically.”

With the loss, the Chiefs fell to a 1-2 record this season.

Kansas City’s next game is the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, October 3 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on CBS.
