Clark Phillips III Seals Utah Victory Over Washington State With 54-Yard Pick-Six

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah cornerback Clark Phillips III sealed a victory for his team with a 54-yard pick-six during the fourth quarter against the Washington State Cougars.
The Utes hosted the Cougars at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, September 25.
With 2:19 left in the game, Phillips intercepted Washington State quarterback Jarrett Guarantano and returned the ball 54 yards to the end zone.
Phillips touchdown gave the Utes a 24-13 lead.

It was Phillips’ second career interception. His first pick came against Washington State in 2020 and was also returned for a touchdown.
The freshman cornerback finished the game with six total tackles, four solo tackles, one interception, and a touchdown.
Utah improved to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in Pac-12 games with the win.
The Utes’ next game is against the USC Trojans on October 9.
