PROVO, Utah – The second meeting all-time of BYU vs USF takes place tonight at LaVell Edwards Stadium. It will be the first time that BYU has hosted the Bulls in Provo.
The first matchup between the two schools took place in 2019. That was a game where USF upset BYU 27-23. Since that shocking outcome, the two programs have gone in different directions.

BYU enters this game ranked No. 15 nationally in the AP Top 25 poll and No. 16 in the Coaches. The Cougars are the only team in the country that entered week four with an undefeated record against all Power Five competition. USF will be the first non-Power Five team BYU faces this season.
USF, coached by second-year head coach Jeff Scott, is 1-2. Their lone victory came last week against Florida A&M. The Bulls have played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country facing NC State and Florida.
One of the big storylines tonight entering tonight’s game is the availability of BYU quarterback Jaren Hall. Hall took a hard fall last week in the win over Arizona State, and BYU coaches have kept it close to the vest what his availability looks like heading into this game against USF.
If Hall isn’t available to play, Baylor Romney or Jacob Conover will be available. Both quarterbacks were vying for the QB job during fall camp before the job ultimately went to Hall near the end of camp.
BYU is looking to create a little bit of history tonight. With a win over USF, BYU would have its second consecutive undefeated record heading into the month of October. BYU has never done that in its history, and it’s a program that dates back to 1922.
Our KSL Sports team, featuring myself, Matt Baiamonte, Alex Kirry, and Dallen Graff will be on location for BYU’s game against USF. You can also catch pregame coverage of BYU vs. USF at 6 p.m. on KSL NewsRadio.
