Brighton Completes Comeback With Big Win Over East

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Brighton Bengals needed a big fourth quarter but they took down East 35-28 to stay in second place in Region 6.
Brighton trailed East 28-20 with under 11 minutes left in the game when Mitchell Dolato ran in a touchdown with over two minutes left and Bingham Zollinger ran in a 13-yard TD with 14 seconds left to complete the comeback. Jack Johnson threw three touchdown passes, finding Quincy Covington, Lander Barton and Dante McMaster. Amini Amone led East with two rushing scores. Benjamin Roberts had a 52-yard pick-six early in the first quarter.
Here are all of the results in the 5A classification from the seventh week of the high school football season.
Region 5
Bountiful 28 @ Box Elder 7
The Redhawks scored all 28 of their points through the first three quarters to pick up a Region 5 win. Corbin Cottle ran in three touchdown, while Owen Geilman added one rushing TD for Bountiful.
Viewmont 27 @ No. 23 Northridge 46
The Knights had a big second quarter with 21 points to pick up the win in region play. Maximus Fonoti-Maikui threw four touchdown passes and ran in one TD for Northridge. He found Josh Accord twice, while hitting Mason Obray and Malikai Williams once each. AJ Tillman added two rushing touchdowns.
Woods Cross 7 @ Bonneville 35
Koy Dixon accounted for five touchdowns, three passing and two rushing in the win. He found Jordan Jacquez twice and Kord Shaw once. Koy Dixon added two rushing touchdowns for the Lakers.
Region 6
Murray 7 @ Skyline 42
Alexander Emery threw three touchdown passes, connecting with Miles Hall, Austin Okerwa and A.J. Jones. Emery also ran in a touchdown. Bo Tate and Porter Brockman each added a rushing score for Skyline in the win.
No. 13 Park City 35 @ Olympus 14
The Miners were impressive on both sides of the ball as they consistently scored on offense while holding Olympus to two touchdowns. Chase Beyer threw one touchdown pass to William McCurdy. Carson Tabaracci ran in two scores on the ground, while Jonathan Allison and Blake Tabaracci added one touchdown apiece.
Region 7
Stansbury 48 @ Cedar Valley 21
Stansbury jumped out to a 27-7 halftime lead and never looked back. Nate Bushnell led the way with four rushing touchdowns. Ezra Harris and Benji Douglass each had one score on the ground. Austin Rady threw one TD pass to Dylan Hamilton in the win for the Stallions.
Mountain View 14 @ Tooele 41
After taking a 20-7 halftime lead, Tooele ran away with the game after scoring 15 unanswered in the third quarter. Mapa Vaenuku ran in three touchdowns, while Payton Sprouse threw a TD to Gabe Medina and ran in a score on the ground for the Buffaloes.
Uintah 21 @ Timpanogos 45
Timpanogos scored 35 of their 45 points in the first half. Matu Holdaway threw two touchdown passes, as did Chase Riggs. Jaxon Vanchiere had three receiving TD’s for the Timberwolves.
Hillcrest 7 @ Payson 42
Luke Ivers threw two touchdowns, finding Lincoln Shaw and Taysen Houser. Tanner Ivers also threw a TD to Jaxton Howard. Kelton Smith added two rushing TD’s in the win for Payson.
Region 8
Jordan 10 @ No. 19 Lehi 53
Jackson Brousseau five touchdowns, all in the first half for Lehi. He connected with Jaxon Christensen twice, while finding Isaac Dayley, Kobe Moore and Carson Gonzalez once each. Helaman Ofahengaue and Isaac Mills added rushing TD’s and Lance Olsen had a pick-six.

No. 6 Orem 23 @ Alta 48
Alta took it to the state champs with a big upset win at home. Ethan Jackson threw seven touchdown passes. He found Maika Kaufusi three times, Noah Flores twice and one to each Jensen Campbell and Jace Turner.
No. 17 Springville 45 @ No. 12 Wasatch 24
The Red Devils trailed 24-22 heading into the fourth quarter before scoring 23 unanswered. Ryder Burton threw three touchdowns, hitting Brady Mortensen twice and once to Cole Clement. Seth Rigtrup added three rushing touchdowns.
No. 15 Spanish Fork 14 @ Provo 21
The Dons scored first but the Bulldogs answered with 21 straight points to pull off the upset win in Region 8 play. Jace Welsch threw a touchdown to Tomasi Hifo. Daniel Asisi returned a blocked kick for a touchdown, while Feitagi Lesa scored a TD on the ground.
Salem Hills 3 @ Maple Mountain 10
Maple Mountain opened with a field goal and that was the score until the fourth quarter when Banks Jackson ran in a touchdown to give the Golden Eagles a 10-0 lead. Salem Hills added a field goal with under five minutes to play.
Non-Region
Highland 22 @ No. 5 Timpview 62
Timpview scored 41 points in just the second quarter and that was all they needed to pick up the win. Pokai Haunga had two rushing touchdowns and a receiving TD. Taylo Malo, Etano Foster, Paka Haunga, Kerven Tua’one and Micah Beckstead all had rushing TD’s.
