LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain West announced on Monday afternoon that Utah State linebacker Justin Rice was named Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Justin Rice claimed the Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after recording 14 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble in Utah State’s win over Air Force.

It’s the third time in Rice’s career that he has received conference player of the week honors. The interception was in the end zone and led the Aggies to a touchdown.

Fresno State quarterback Jake Haener won Offensive Player of the Week, Colorado State kicker Cayden Camper earned Special Teams Player of the Week, while CSU defensive back Jack Howell was named Freshman of the Week.

Utah State will look to remain undefeated when they host Boise State on Saturday, September 25 at 10 a.m. MDT on CBS.
