Hoge was an undrafted free agent signing this past spring with the New York Jets after his collegiate career at BYU. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound guard played 46 snaps of preseason action with the Jets before getting cut in the penultimate week of training camp.

A native of Pocatello, Idaho, Hoge had a tryout with the Browns this past Friday, including former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster.
Hoge started in 25 games during his BYU career at the right guard position and was a mainstay on an offensive line recognized on the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll for the nation’s most outstanding offensive line.
With Tristen Hoge now signing with the Browns, seven former BYU players are on practice squad rosters in the NFL. The others include Zayne Anderson (Chiefs), Matt Bushman (Raiders), Kai Nacua (49ers), Bronson Kaufusi (Packers), Troy Warner (Buccaneers), and Chris Wilcox (Colts).
