PROVO, Utah – The BYU football team is on a roll right now. After three consecutive wins over Pac-12 teams, BYU continues to bring the heat on the field with their play and drip. (For those not aware of drip, that’s cool gear).
Throughout the season, BYU will be wearing 12 different uniform looks and on Monday, the equipment team rolled out the uniform combo for this Saturday’s game against USF.

BYU will go with a traditional look this weekend in a revenge game against the Bulls. The No. 15 ranked Cougars will wear a white helmet with navy blue stripes and decals, along with a navy blue jersey and white pants.
This uniform combination came into BYU’s identity back in 2005. When Bronco Mendenhall was hired as the head coach, he wanted BYU to bring the tradition-rich oval Y. He initially wanted royal blue uniforms. Still, BYU admins didn’t want to ditch the navy blue introduced into the school’s official colors in 1999. So, Mendenhall and admins met in the middle bringing back the tradition-rich Oval Y and university striping jerseys but instead of royal blue, it was in navy.
Last season, BYU wore this combination in a hard-fought game against the UTSA Roadrunners. In that game, BYU was ranked No. 15 and had a 3-0 record. The Cougars hope to roll through USF with a little bit more ease than they did the Roadrunners a year ago. BYU won that UTSA game 27-20.
Along with the traditional navy blue uniforms and white, BYU equipment rolled out a new turnover belt for this week’s game. Through the first three weeks, any BYU player with a takeaway has received a royal blue turnover belt. This week, players will get a navy blue belt if they force a takeaway against the Bulls.
