Lehi Pulls Off Big Upset Over No. 15 Fremont On The Road

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Lehi Pioneers from the 5A classification pulled off a 31-17 upset road win over No. 15 Fremont on Friday night.
Lehi held a 21-10 halftime lead. They were able to hold off Fremont with a 10-7 advantage in the second half. Carson Gonzalez started things with a rushing TD. Jackson Brousseau threw two touchdown passes, one to Steele Cooper and Kadiyon Sweat. Sweat also had an interception returned for a touchdown. Kyler Kotter had a passing TD to Cannon Kofford, while Hayden Hall ran in a score for Fremont.

Here are all of the results in the 6A classification from the sixth week of the high school football season.
Region 1
No. 12 Syracuse 20 @ Davis 26
The Darts pulled off a massive upset at home. They had a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 17-3 halftime lead. The Titans outscored Davis 17-3 in the third quarter to tie the game entering the fourth quarter. Jackson Stevens found Ty Hoagland for a 40-yard touchdown as time expired. Dakoda Kempthorne ran in two touchdowns for the Darts in the win. Braxton Stark ran in a TD for Syracuse, while Jake Hopkins threw a 75-yard TD to Chandler Christensen.

No. 7 Weber 63 @ Clearfield 27
Jake Lindsay accounted for six touchdowns, four passing and two rushing. Cannon DeVries caught two touchdown passes and ran in another TD as Weber cruised to a region win on the road.
Farmington 27 @ No. 22 Layton 20 OT
Layton had an 8-point lead in the final second of the fourth quarter. Easton White threw a 20-yard TD to Mitch Nielsen with 19 seconds left and they got the two-point conversion. Boston Reinhold ran in the game-winning touchdown in overtime for the Phoenix. Garrett Gifford threw two touchdown passes, one to Brigham and Elias Parkinson for Layton.

Region 2
No. 19 Kearns 35 @ Roy 40 (Thurs.)
Kearns jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first quarter and held a 28-19 lead at halftime. Roy outscored the Cougars 21-7 in the second half to pick up a big region win. Parker Kingston ran in three touchdowns, while Ethan Ecker added two rushing TD’s. Iosefa Toia’ivao accounted for four touchdowns, three rushing and one passing in the loss for Kearns.

Granger 41 @ Taylorsville 10
The Lancers jumped out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter and took a 21-10 lead into the halftime break. They held the Warriors scoreless in the second half and put 20 more points on the board to pick up the win.

No. 11 West 30 @ Hunter 14
It was all West from the opening kickoff. Sesi Vailahi caught a touchdown and ran in another one. Isaiah SueSue threw two touchdowns in the win.
Region 3
Riverton 14 @ West Jordan 20
Jake Meyers found Sau Tafisi for a touchdown to give Riverton the lead in the first quarter. West Jordan countered with two unanswered touchdown runs by Boston Farmer. Meyers connected with Josh Jacobson for a touchdown to give the Silverwolves a 14-12 lead. Boston Farmer found Carter Baldwin for a touchdown, which became the game-winning score.

No. 10 Mountain Ridge 42 @ Copper Hills 0
Mountain Ridge remained undefeated with a blowout win in region play. Ayden Helm threw one touchdown pass to Jordan Day, while Day caught another TD from Troy Isbell. Semisi Kinikini ran in a touchdown for the Sentinels. Cade Uluave was busy, recording a rushing TD and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

No. 8 Bingham 27 @ Herriman 10
The game was close until the fourth quarter when Bingham scored three unanswered touchdowns. Dallen Martinez, Havea Foto, Braxton Gregory and Saia Lomu all ran in touchdowns for the Miners. Nu’u Tafisi had the lone rushing touchdown for Herriman.
Region 4
No. 2 Skyridge 44 @ Westlake 2
McCae Hillstead accounted for six touchdowns, three rushing and three passing. He found Jeter Fenton, Tate Walker and Cannon Jensen. Westlake got a safety late in the fourth quarter.
No. 3 Lone Peak 52 @ Pleasant Grove 7
Easton Comer threw two touchdown passes, while Ryder Christensen added a passing TD and a receiving score. They found Crew McChesney and Luke Hyde through the air. Jaxson Willits added two rushing touchdowns, while Mason Patane had two pick sixes in the win for Lone Peak.
No. 1 Corner Canyon 51 @ No. 4 American Fork 22
American Fork scored first but the lead didn’t last that long as the Chargers scored three unanswered touchdowns and coasted to the win. Devin Brown accounted for six touchdowns, four rushing and two passing, connecting with Jett Meine and Cody Hagen. Maddux Madsen ran in a TD, while also finding Ben Rutter through the air for American Fork.
