SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz open their season on October 20, just 37 days from today. With the clock ticking, we look at 50 things for Jazz fans to be excited about leading up to the 2021-22 NBA season. Coming in at number 37, the Jazz training camp roster invitees.

While Jazz fans will be looking forward to the additions of Rudy Gay, Hassan Whiteside, Eric Paschall, and Jared Butler, they shouldn’t overlook the other fresh faces that will be joining the team as camp invitees.
Though the team can only carry 15 guaranteed contracts on the roster and two additional two-way players during the regular season, they can have as many as 20 players signed to deals leading up to opening night.
As it stands, the Jazz have 14 players with at least partially guaranteed regular season contracts, plus the two-way contract of second-year guard Trent Forrest.

But in total, the Jazz have 18 players under contract with the non-guaranteed deals of Jarrell Brantley, MaCio Teague, and Derrick Alston Jr. who signed with the team on Monday.
Jazz fans are familiar with Brantley after the College of Charleston’s last two years of service with the team. The forward signed a qualifying offer with the team in the offseason during the Jazz summer league and will compete for a roster spot during camp.
The team signed Teague on draft night after a terrific college career playing alongside Jazz second draft pick Jared Butler at Baylor.
The former Bear led all Jazz scorers in the Salt Lake City Summer League averaging 15.3 points per game which he followed up with a healthy 10.4 points per game average in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Alston Jr. joins the Jazz after averaging 17.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during his final season at Boise State. Alston Sr. is the head coach of the Westchester Knicks, the New York Knicks G League affiliate.

Players who sign non-guaranteed camp deals traditionally sign Exhibit-10 contracts which the team can waive at any time while maintaining control of the waived player’s G League rights. The Jazz can then assign these invitees to the Salt Lake City Stars or sign them to a two-way contract.
Though Exhibit-10 players may seem like a long shot to make the team, fans should remember former Jazzman Juwan Morgan originally signed a non-guaranteed camp invite before signing a two-year deal with the team months later.
Golden State Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson originally signed with the team on an Exhibit-10 deal before eventually being bumped up to a regular contract while averaging more than 20 minutes per game over the last two seasons.
The Jazz still have one additional two-way contract and one open roster spot that they can fill ahead of training camp which opens later this month.
With training camp just weeks away, tracking the team’s camp roster is one of the 50 things Jazz fans can look forward to as opening night approaches.
