SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Weber State football ran past in-state rival Dixie State for the Wildcats’ first victory of the 2021 fall season.

The Trailblazers hosted the Wildcats in St. George on Saturday, September 11.

Weber State blew out Dixie State, 41-3.

The Wildcats scored the first points of the contest when Dontae McMillan ran for a 52-yard touchdown in the opening quarter.

Dixie State responded with a field goal to make it a 7-3 game at the end of the first quarter.

Unfortunately for the Trailblazers and luckily for the Wildcats, the field goal was Dixie State’s final time putting points on the scoreboard.

Over the final 45 minutes of action, Weber State scored 34 unanswered points.

Wildcats quarterback Bronson Barron was 10/20 passing for 90 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

McMillan carried the Wildcats with 16 carries for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Dixie State played two quarterbacks in the loss. Kody Wilstead was 8/13 passing for 67 yards and an interception and Kenyon Oblad was 5/14 passing for 94 yards and a pick.

With the result, Weber State improved to 1-1 on the season and Dixie State fell to a record of 0-2.
