SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah football team will look to set rivalry history but will need to pick up a win in Provo on Saturday night against BYU.
Utah currently holds a nine-game winning streak and with a win over BYU, they would hold the longest winning streak in rivalry history on either side of it.
Here are three keys for a Utah win on Saturday night at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.
1. Finish In The Red Zone
This has gone back to last season with Utah getting down the field on offense but have to settle for a field goal and leaving points on the board. That happened against Weber State in the season opener. In the first half, Utah had two missed opportunities for touchdowns with drops in the end zone.
If Utah wants to take care of business, they will need to get six points when they get into the red zone and not three.

2. Continue To Create Havoc On Defense
During the winning streak, Utah has forced 29 turnovers and many have gone for touchdowns. The Utes have a great defense and should be able to capitalize by creating problems for BYU’s offense. The Cougars have great wide receivers and play makers but the Utes are capable of making it a long night for them.
Sacks, TFL’s, INT’s and fumbles will go a long way in this game.

3. Establish A Balanced Attack On Offense
Utah threw the ball on 29 times against Weber State and ran the ball 31 times. That’s very balanced compared to what the Utes have done on offense in the past. With Charlie Brewer at quarterback and Tavion Thomas emerging as the lead back, Utah has all the tools to have a balanced attack on offense.
Utah and BYU will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. MDT on ESPN.
