Real Salt Lake Legend Nick Rimando To Be Inducted Into Utah Sports Hall Of Fame

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Legendary goalkeeper Nick Rimando will become the first representative from Real Salt Lake to be inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame.
Rimando will join Haloti Ngata, Courtney Young Johnson, Jay Don Blake, and Teri Okelberry Spiers as members of the 2021 HOF class. The ceremony will occur on September 20th at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.

Rimando, 42, played 20 seasons in Major League Soccer, 13 of them in a Real Salt Lake kit, and holds MLS records for career wins, career saves, and career shutouts. He is widely regarded as the greatest MLS goalkeeper of all time.
Since his retirement in 2019, Rimando has been helping develop the next generation of American goalkeepers. He runs camps and private lessons as well as helping coach at the Real Salt Lake Academy.
Real Salt Lake is scheduled to host the Seattle Sounders on September 18th where fans can now purchase tickets for as low as $18 in honor of Rimando’s HOF induction. Rimando wore the number 18 during his illustrious playing career.
Furthermore, Real Salt Lake will conduct an on-field half-time ceremony in honor of Rimando during the game against Seattle. Fans are also welcome to visit Rimando for autographs or photographs prior to the fixture, Rimando will be present at the LifeVantage tent in the Plaza on the East side of Rio Tinto Stadium.
