New York Jets Vote Rookie QB Zach Wilson As 2021 Team Captain

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced that former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was voted as a team captain for the 2021 NFL season.
Saleh announced the Jets’ captains on Wednesday, September 8.
In addition to Wilson, Foley Fatukasi, Corey Davis, Justin Hardee, and CJ Mosley were selected as captains.
New York’s team captains were voted on by the players, according to team reporter Ethan Greenberg.
Earlier in the offseason, the first-year head coach spoke about receiving feedback from his team captains and veteran players.
“I’m always open to have a conversation,” Saleh said. “Remember, the best-coached teams are the teams that coach themselves and have especially veteran leadership to step in and voice their opinions and have a thought on how they can make things better. I think that’s always important. It’s a machine, and they’re a big, big part of it. Obviously, I would always appreciate their voice.”
