SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It was not the round three that Utah’s Tony Finau had hoped for as he entered the clubhouse carding a three-over-par, 73.
Finau, 31, began the round in horrible fashion following a bogey on the opening hole. He then proceeded to par the following three holes but on the par-four fifth hole, he proceeded to make another bogey.
It went from bad to worse as Finau closed out the opening nine holes when he made consecutive bogeys on seven and eight. He made the turn at four-over-par.
Fortunately, Finau was able to secure two birdies on the par 4 12th and the par 4 17th but he concluded his round with his 5th bogey on the par 4 17th to enter the final round in a tie for 13th and 14 shots behind the leader Patrick Cantlay.

Finau is vying for his best ever FedEx Cup finish. In 2018 he concluded the season in 6th position. He entered the Tour Championship in the second position but with another poor showing in the final round, it remains unknown if he will finish in a top-five position.
Finau will be playing alongside Jason Kokrak in the final round of the playoff finale. They will tee off at 10:45 a.m.
