College Gameday On ESPN Refers To BYU As ‘Future Big 12 Member’

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – You know football season is back when you wake up on Saturday morning and see ESPN College Gameday.
During the September 4 broadcast from Charlotte, North Carolina, the Gameday crew previewed BYU and Arizona for a little bit.

The ESPN College Gameday crew didn’t end up picking BYU-Arizona in their Saturday Selections part of the program. So it’s not clear who ended up picking which teams for tonight’s tilt at Allegiant Stadium.
But the title of future Big 12 member is something BYU fans can get used to. On Friday, Sports Illustrated reported that BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF were applying for membership into the Big 12 Conference next week. Then on Friday, September 10, according to SI, Presidents from universities in the Big 12 Conference will vote on bringing those four schools into the fold.
The Gameday hosts then went on to talk about Arizona’s overhauled staff, led by first-year head coach Jedd Fisch. They also mentioned that 147 of the 200 people in Arizona’s football building have changed.
BYU versus Arizona kicks off at Allegiant Stadium here in Las Vegas at 8:30 p.m. (MT) on ESPN and KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM, 1160 AM).
