LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The home of the 2021 Vegas Classic between BYU and Arizona is Allegiant Stadium. Home to the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
The $2 billion venue opened last year but hasn’t had the chance to host fans until this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Events such as Garth Brooks, CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, and WWE Summerslam have already taken place in the venue known as the “Death Star.” One of the complaints from spectators has been issues with parking.

With BYU and Arizona ready to set a record for the most fans to witness a college sporting event in the state of Nevada, and with many of those people driving from either Salt Lake, Tucson, Los Angeles, or even Vegas, finding parking options is a must.
To figure out the parking situation at Allegiant Stadium, I reached out to Sports Business and Transportation reporter Mick Akers from the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Akers has been covering everything with Allegiant Stadium over the past five years. He recently joined me on an episode of Cougar Tracks to discuss what fans should expect if driving into the BYU/Arizona game.
Where to park + cost of parking at Allegiant Stadium
“There’s no shortage of [parking spots]. Around the stadium, there are 2,700 in the exact footprint of the stadium itself. Those spots go for $100 and allow tailgating. But you know, there are 35,000 parking spaces within a mile of the city,” Akers said to KSL Sports. “The Raiders control a few other spots just outside of the [stadium] district here in [Vegas]. Those are a little bit cheaper, $40 to $50. Most of those also allow tailgating.”
Akers added, “You can also park across the I-15 freeway. Some of those MGM properties (Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, and even New York, New York about $55 to around 30 bucks at New York, New York.”
As I was saying, this isn’t quite like the parking setup in Provo, where everything is free. If you want to have a spot close to the stadium, prepare to open up your wallet. But Akers gave some pro tips as well that could be alternative options.
Pro Tip for BYU/Arizona Game Day
“If you don’t mind getting to the game a little bit early and such, I would say park at New York, New York, walk across the bridge to Excalibur where they have a tram that takes you directly from there to the Mandalay Bay. And from there, you can walk out from the casino right onto Hacienda Avenue, where they close it down for game days. And you walk over about a mile right to the stadium.”

Akers noted that pro tip has been a go-to for many Las Vegas locals attending events at Allegiant Stadium. Because traffic isn’t as difficult to get out of when leaving the venue.
If you do arrive early, the Luxor parking lot nearby has a big tailgate party with screens, betting stations, and a “Bud Light Beer Garden.”
Reserve parking in advance at MGM resort parking garages
If you want to secure your parking spot at one of the MGM properties, that is also an option. Currently, the Delano and Luxor have parking available for Saturday night’s Vegas Kickoff Classic. Starting as low as $25 and going up to $60. You can also purchase parking on the day of the game.

Bus Routes are not available
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) established bus routes to pick up fans in Summerlin, Green Valley, Centennial Hills, and West Henderson for Las Vegas Raiders games. Unfortunately, those routes are not available according to Akers for BYU vs. Arizona.
Cashless payments inside Allegiant Stadium
All of the vendors inside Allegiant Stadium are cashless forms of payment only. However, if you show up with cash and no card, there are kiosks where you enter your cash and get a debit card you can use anywhere, even outside of the Allegiant Stadium.
