SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The final event of the 2020/21 PGA Tour season is fast concluding as Tony Finau plays for the $15 million winners share this Thursday, September 2nd, at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Tour Championship signifies the last of three playoff events as the field dwindles every week. The FedEx Cup Playoffs began at The Northern Trust where the top 125 FedEx Cup players competed. Since then, the field has shrunk to 30 as the prize money increases and the stakes only get higher.
Finau is currently ranked 2nd in the FedEx Cup standings following a victory at The Northern Trust and a T15 finish at the BMW Championship. He will begin the tournament two shots behind Patrick Cantlay who leads all players in the rankings.

The Tour Championship starts with field members beginning in staggered positions. Cantlay starts the tournament at 10-under-par, Finau will begin 2 shots back at 8-under-par.
The two will be playing with one and another to open the tournament. They will tee it up at noon on Thursday.
Finau is on track to finish this season with his highest personal FedEx Cup finish ever, assuming nothing unforeseen occurs in Atlanta this week. In 2018, Finau finished sixth in the FedEx Cup Standings which marks his highest finish thus far.
