SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – When the Utah football team begins the 2021 season on Thursday against Weber State, they will be sporting a rare uniform combination.
Utah equipment announced that the team will wear black helmets with red jerseys and red pants on Thursday night against the Wildcats at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Since joining the Pac-12 in 2011, the Utes have worn this combination just once and that was on senior day against Colorado on November 28, 2015.
Utah picked up a 20-14 win and ended up finishing the season with a 10-3 record that concluded with a win the Las Vegas Bowl against BYU.

Defensive tackle Devin Kaufusi modeled the uniform combination in the brand new locker room in the Ken Garff Red Zone, which will be on full display on Thursday.
Utah and Weber State will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. MDT and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
