No. 23 Mountain Ridge Stuns No. 10 Wasatch With Big Comeback

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 23 Mountain Ridge Sentinels pulled off an upset in comeback fashion over No. 10 Wasatch 40-30.
The Sentinels were trailing 24-7 through three quarters before rattling off 33 points in the fourth quarter and allowing just seven points to Wasatch. Cade Uluave threw a touchdown and ran in one. Ayden Helm had a 20-yard TD run and Taylor Higham had a pick-six in the stunning win.
Here are all of the results in the 5A classification from the third week of the high school football season.
Region 7
Uintah 7 @ Tooele 34
The Tooele Buffaloes ran of the Uintah Utes on Friday evening, 34-7. Tooele took a 27-7 lead in the opening half and didn’t look back. Payton Sprouse and Mateaki Helu each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Buffaloes. With the result, Tooele improved to 3-0 this season and Uintah fell to a record of 1-2.

Juab 7 @ Salem Hills 42
The Salem Hills SkyHawks flew past the Juab Wasps on Friday, 42-7. After the Wasps opened the contest with a 7-0 lead, the SkyHawks scored 42 unanswered points during the first three quarters of action. Salem Hills’ Zaylun Fenn scored three touchdowns in the SkyHawks’ win. With the result, Salem Hills improved to 1-2 this season and Juab fell to a record of 2-1.
Cottonwood 20 @ Providence Hall (2A) 14
The Cottonwood Colts beat the Providence Hall Patriots on Friday, 20-14. After a 14-14 tie at halftime, the Colts scored six points in the third quarter to take the lead for good. Brock Simpson threw a pair of touchdown passes for Cottonwood. With the result, Cottonwood improved to 1-2 this season and Providence Hall fell to a record of 1-2.

Skyline 35 @ Mountain View 0
The Skyline Eagles shutout the Mountain View Bruins on Friday evening, 35-0. Eagles quarterback Andrew Rasmussen threw a trio of touchdown passes in the contest. With the result, Skyline improved to 1-2 this season and Mountain View fell to a record of 0-3.

No. 13 Kearns (6A) 6 @ Olympus 15
The Olympus Titans upset the No. 13 Kearns Cougars on Friday night, 15-6. The Titans controlled the game with a trio of field goals by Max Foulger during the first three quarters of the defensive battle. Kearn scored its only points of the game on late touchdown in the fourth quarter. With the result, Olympus improved to 3-0 this season and Kearns fell to a record of 1-2.
Bountiful 10 @ No. 16 Springville 19
The No. 10 Springville Red Devils defeated the Bountiful Redhawks on Friday, 19-10. Bountiful owned a 10-6 advantage before Springville scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Seth Rigtrup scored a pair of touchdowns for the Red Devils. With the result, Springville improved to 3-0 this season and Bountiful fell to a record of 1-1.

Judge Memorial (3A) 14 @ Hillcrest 41
Hillcrest snapped their long losing streak with a win over Judge Memorial. Micah Madry threw two touchdown passes, both to Stevie Leo. Tyreses Boyce added two rushing touchdowns in the win.
Woods Cross 6 @ Brighton 41
The Wildcats scored first and that would be the last time. Jack Johnson threw four touchdowns, finding Lander Barton, Bingham Zollinger, Slader Stonestreet and Dante McMaster. CJ Mills and Kace Gurr each ran in a TD.
Northridge 35 @ Murray 27
This game came down to the wire. The first four touchdowns were exchanged between the two teams. Then Northridge scored two straight, followed by two straight by Murray. Northridge took the lead for good when Orian Fonoti-Maikui threw a 59-yard TD to Zach Smith and got the two-point conversion with just over five minutes remaining. For Northridge, Fonoti-Maikui threw four touchdown passes, while running in another TD. He connected with Josh Accord twice, while hitting Trevor Gatliff and Zach Smith once each. Kyler Nielsen had three total touchdowns, two passing and one rushing. He found Chandler Thompson and Anthony Thompson. Lance Wightman added a rushing TD for Murray in the loss.
Payson 13 @ Richfield (3A) 0
Payson picked up their third straight win with a shutout on the road. Luke Ivers threw two touchdown passes, finding Cooper Swasey and Zade Tischner.
Couer d’Alene (ID) 7 vs. Lehi 33 (Sat.)
After a quiet first quarter, Lehi turned it on in the second and third quarters by scoring 30 points. Jackson Brousseau threw three touchdown passes, all to different receivers including Jaxon Christensen, Steele Cooper and Jace McGary. Helaman Ofahengaue added a rushing touchdown. Lehi picked up a win in the Rocky Mountain Rumble in Rexburg, Idaho.
Highland (ID) vs. Alta (Sat.)
This is a part of the Rocky Mountain Rumble and will be played on Saturday, August 28 at 5 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on the KSL Sports app and on KSLSports.com.
