SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – COVID-19 safety protocols forced the cancellation of the high school football game between the No. 3 Lone Peak Knights and No. 7 East Leopards.
The game was canceled on Wednesday, August 25, two days before it was scheduled to take place on Friday, August 27.
The Knights vs. Leopards contest will no longer take place because of COVID-19 concerns within East’s program, a source told KSLSports.com. The game was slated to take place at East High in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The source also told KSLSports.com that the Knights are looking for a replacement game.
After two weeks of the high school football season, Lone Peak is ranked No. 3 in the state and has a 2-0 record this season. The Knights opened the season with a victory over the Timpview Thunderbirds. Lone Peak followed up that game with a win over Bishop Alemany, California.
