Real Salt Lake’s Anderson Julio Scores Game-Winning Goal Late Against Dynamo

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Forward Anderson Julio scored the game-winning goal for Real Salt Lake late in the second half against the Houston Dynamo.
RSL hosted Houston Dynamo FC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Wednesday, August 18.
The native of Pimampiro, Ecuador gave the Sandy based club a lift late in the match as he subbed onto the pitch with fresh legs in the 80th minute.
In the 88th minute of action, Real Salt Lake had the ball inside the box when Rubio Rubin kicked the ball Julio’s way.
The forward sent the ball sailing into the goal for a go-ahead score.

Julio’s strike gave Real Salt Lake a 2-1 lead.
Following three minutes of stoppage time, RSL captured a 2-1 victory and three points at home.

Julio’s goal was his fifth of the season.
The forward entered the contest with four goals, 16 shots, and shots on goal in 15 matches.

RSL forward Justin Meram scored the club’s first goal of the match in the sixth minute of play.
