SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah football offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Andy Ludwig is impressed with how fast Cam Rising has recovered from his shoulder surgery.
Cam Rising is competing with college football veteran Charlie Brewer for the starting QB job and according to Andy Ludwig, Rising looks really good throwing the football.
“Let me circle back 34 years, I don’t think so,” Ludwig said after practice on Monday. “Unbelievable to come back from shoulder surgery on his throwing arm and spinning it the way he is with the velocity, the accuracy, speaks volumes to his relentless rehab, speaks highly of the doctors and the training staff, everyone that put him back together.”

When Rising was asked if he was surprised about his speedy recovery, he just followed the recommendations from doctors and trainers.
“I just followed the protocol, and pretty much did whatever I was told,” Rising said. “They told me that I could be back in this timeframe. That’s pretty much what I did. I just stayed with the plan and tested the process.”
Rising suffered a season-ending shoulder surgery early in the second quarter against the USC Trojans in the season-opener in November of 2020.
