Allegiant Stadium recently released updated safety guidelines for attendees at their $2 billion venue after the Raiders announced they would require everyone in attendance at their games to be vaccinated.
The Raiders were the first NFL team to require vaccination proof. Leaving BYU and Arizona fans wondering, would they be required to provide proof as well?
Masks required for BYU/Arizona game in Las Vegas
The answer, proof of vaccination is not going to be required. But a mask will be required for those attending the season-opening showdown on September 4th, regardless of your vaccination status. Here’s the updated release from Allegiant Stadium this week.
For all other events at Allegiant Stadium: At this time, the vaccine requirement policy applies only to Raiders home games at Allegiant Stadium in keeping with the Governor’s State of Nevada Emergency Directive 049. The Raiders and Allegiant Stadium are currently evaluating any application of this policy to other events. For all other events at Allegiant Stadium, all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face mask while inside the stadium. Individual events held at Allegiant Stadium may also implement heightened COVID-19 protocols, so please read all correspondence regarding an individual event carefully.
As of early July, nearly 55,000 tickets have been sold for the neutral site clash, which will likely be a sea of royal blue. BYU fans gobbled up their school’s allotment of tickets in less than three hours.
This will be the 25th meeting all-time between BYU and Arizona. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 12-11-1, with the first meeting taking place in 1936. BYU has won the last two meetings, both under head coach Kalani Sitake.
