BYU Football Freshmen Report To Fall Camp In Sunday Best
PROVO, Utah – Report day is here for the BYU football team. The start of fall camp means a new season upon us, and it’s the first chance for true freshmen to get a taste of life as college football players.
Freshmen find out in a hurry that their status in high school doesn’t matter once they get to college. They fall to the bottom of the pack and have to work their way up to make a name for themselves. If they don’t realize that, the upperclassmen will probably let them know.
BYU upperclassmen safety Hayden Livingston gave a glimpse into that on Wednesday at report day on his personal Instagram. The sophomore safety who’s been part of the program since 2016 posted a video with a caption that read, “We got all the freshmen to dress up for day 1 of camp.”
This is great. #BYU freshmen reported to camp today in dress shirts and ties. 👔 🏈

The video then shows a pair of BYU freshmen in John Nelson and another freshman sporting their Sunday best –shirt and ties– walking out of the walkway into the lobby area at the Student Athlete Building. Both Nelson was a player spotlighted by defensive line teammate Lorenzo Fauatea during spring ball for their play this past March.
Wednesday is check-in day for the BYU football team. Then, on Thursday, they’ll hit the practice field for the first time in 2021.
