SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Ute Jake Gibb and his partner Tri Bourne lost to Germany 2-1 in Beach Volleyball, ending their Olympic run.
Gibb and Bourne were able to keep a safe distance from Germany and took care of business in the first set, 21-17. It wasn’t quite the start to the second set that Team USA hoped for, trailing Germany 6-4. That lead extended to 12-8. Germany went on to win the second set 21-15. The winner of the next set would go on to the Round of 8 and the loser would go home.
