SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Team USA Gymnast Jade Carey won the Gold Medal at the floor exercise final on Monday morning at the Tokyo Olympics.
It’s the first individual medal at the Olympics for Jade Carey as she topped Silver Medalist Vanessa Ferrari from Italy and Bronze Medalists Mai Murakami from Japan and Angelina Melnikova from ROC, who tied.
It was a great bounce back performance for Carey, who struggled at the vault final, which former Red Rocks star MyKayla Skinner won the Silver in that event.
Carey finished with a 14.366 score. Ferrari recorded a 14.200, while the two Bronze Medalists pulled in a score of 14.166.
