NBA Releases Key Dates For 2021-22 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA has released the key dates for the 2021-22 schedule. After a year that was upended by the COVID-19 pandemic, the league will return to a more traditional fall through early summer calendar.
The 2021 season officially opens on August 2 when teams can begin negotiating with free agents for the upcoming season. However, teams can’t officially sign players to offer sheets until August 6.
NBA teams will opening training camp on September 28 in preparation for opening night on October 19.

The regular season is scheduled to run through April 10 with the recently approved Play-In Tournament continuing into next season beginning on April 12.
The postseason will then begin on April 16, with the Finals beginning on June 2 and concluding no later than June 19. That will allow the season to end with the 2022 NBA Draft on June 23.
After free agency begins on August 2, the Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs, and Memphis Grizzlies will head to Utah for the Salt Lake City Summer League which runs August 3-6.
The Las Vegas Summer League begins on April 8 and will feature all 30 NBA teams for the nine-day tournament. There were no summer leagues held during the summer of 2020 after the 2020-21 season was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic that prevented teams from playing between March-July.

August 3-6 – Salt Lake City Summer League
August 8-17 – Las Vegas Summer League
September 28 – Training Camps Open
October 19 – Regular Season Opening Night
April 10 – Regular Season Concludes
April 12-15 – Play-In Tournament
April 16 – Playoffs Begin
June 2 – NBA Finals Begin
June 19 – NBA Finals Conclude
June 23 – NBA Draft
