Impact United Soccer Club Wins U-18 Girls USYS National Championship

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah’s Impact United Soccer Club won the U-18 Girls United States Youth Soccer National Championship with a win over Indy Premier Soccer Club.
Impact United SC played Indy Premier SC in Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida on Sunday, July 25.
IUSC won the match and the title, 3-2.
Samantha Sofonia of Impact United scored the first goal of the match during the 48th minute of play.
In the 54 minutes, Indy Premier SC leveled the match at one goal apiece.
Impact United regained the lead with a second goal by Sofonia in the 66th minute.
During the 80th minute, Indy Premier tied the contest, 2-2.
IUSC went up for a final of 3-2 with an own goal by Indy Premier SC in the 90th minute of action.
“Congrats to our U18 team for being the first impact team in history to win the national title. So proud of your efforts throughout this week. Way to bring it home girls!” the club posted on Instagram.

The USYS championship was the third by a Utah team in the past couple of days.
On July 23, the Utah Avalanche won the 13U Boys US Youth Soccer National Championship with a shootout victory against Mundelein Soccer Club.
Earlier on Sunday, La Roca Futbol Club won the U-16 Girls title.
