La Roca Futbol Club Captures U-16 USYS National Championship

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah’s La Roca Futbol Club won the U-16 United States Youth Soccer National Championship with a win over Philadelphia FC.
LRFC played Philadelphia FC in Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida on Sunday, July 25.
La Roca Futbol Club won the national title with a 2-0 victory.
After a scoreless first half, La Roca Futbol Club’s Oakley Anderson scored the first goal of the match during the 45th minute.
During the 58th minute of action, Anderson struck again and helped LRFC take a commanding 2-0 lead.
LRFC held on for the 2-0 victory.

La Roca Futbol Club head coach Pancho Ovalle won his first national title as a result. Ovalle had coached teams to pair of championship games in the past.
The USYS championship was the second by a Utah team in the past couple of days. On July 23, the Utah Avalanche won the 13U Boys US Youth Soccer National Championship with a shootout victory against Mundelein Soccer Club.
