New England Patriots LB Kyle Van Noy Tosses First Pitch At Boston Red Sox Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and current New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy threw the ceremonial first pitch before the Boston Red Sox’s game against the New York Yankees.
The Red Sox hosted the rival Yankees at Fenway Park on Friday, July 23.
Before the contest began, Van Noy tossed the celebratory first pitch of the game.

Boston defeated New York, 6-2.
The Red Sox, Patriots, and the former BYU star shared photos from the event on social media.
On Instagram, Van Noy posted photos along with the caption, “Home.”

Van Noy’s return “home” to New England comes after he spent the 2020 season as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
Miami signed Van Noy to a lucrative four-year deal after the 2019 season, but waived the standout linebacker prior to free agency.

Van Noy reunited with his former team in March.
The former Cougar great played for the Patriots from 2016-2019.
During the four-year stretch, New England won two Super Bowls.

About Kyle Van Noy
After a standout career at BYU, Van Noy was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Following two and a half seasons with Detroit, the linebacker was traded to New England.
In Van Noy’s 3.5 seasons with the Patriots, he recorded 221 total tackles, 154 solo tackles, 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, nine pass breakups, two interceptions, and two touchdowns in 51 games.

During his seven seasons, Van Noy has recorded 358 total tackles, 246 solo tackles, 23.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and 16 pass breakups in 95 games.
The Patriots begin the preseason against the Washington Football Team on August 12.
Van Noy will face his former Dolphins teammates in New England’s regular season opener on September 12.
