Utah LB Devin Lloyd Added To Bednarik Award Watchlist

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah junior linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named to the Bednarik Award watchlist heading into the 2021 college football season.
Devin Lloyd is on the watchlist for the Bednarik Award, which is given to college football’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year.
Lloyd was a finalist for the Butkus Award during the 2020 season, which is awarded to the best linebacker in college football.
The Chula Vista, California native led the Utes with 48 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, along with two sacks, a forced fumble and one quarterback hurry.

Lloyd has also been named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy Award watchlist. Along with that, he has been named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-America first team, Athlon Sports Preseason All-America second team and their Preseason All-Pac-12 first team. Finally, Lloyd was also named Preseason All-Pac-12 first team by Phil Steele.
At the end of the 2020 season, Lloyd was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, Sporting News All-America Second Team, Phil Steele All-America honorable mention as well as a Butkus Award and Pop Warner College Football Award finalist.
In his career at Utah, Lloyd has been named to the All-Pac-12 team twice, playing in 33 games with 19 starts. Lloyd decided to return to the Utah football program for the 2021 season, putting his NFL career on hold for one more year.
