SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA Draft is two weeks away, and the various mock drafts are doing their best to project who will land where in the July 29 event. The Utah Jazz own the 30th and final pick in the first round, their only selection of the night.
The team traded their 2021 second-round pick to Indiana in 2019 in exchange for the rights to Jarrell Brantley. The Jazz drafted Udoka Azubuike with the 27th pick in the 2020 draft and will send next year’s first-round pick to Memphis to complete the Mike Conley trade.
With that in mind, here’s a quick roundup of the players’ different mock drafts project landing with the Jazz.
Utah Jazz Mock Draft Round-Up 2.0
The Ringer – Ayo Dosunmu: Guard – Illinois
In The Ringer’s latest mock they project the Jazz to select Illinois guard Ayo Dusunmu. The 6’5 guard averaged 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists during his junior season while leading Illinois to a 24-7 record.

“Finding another guard should be one of the front office’s top priorities,” The Ringer wrote with Mike Conley potentially leaving the roster. “Dosunmu would bring the size to defend larger players on defense, adding versatility and switchability to a team in need of it.”
CBS Sports – Herbert Jones: Forward – Alabama
In CBS Sports latest mock draft, they project the Jazz to draft Alabama forward Herbert Jones. The senior forward averaged 11.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 44 percent from the floor and 36 percent from three.

“An elite defender who won SEC Player of the Year honors last season, Herbert Jones is a big-bodied wing who can switch defensively and is a plus-playmaker from his position.”

McBride shot 43 percent from the floor and 41 percent from three while proving to be one of the best on-ball defenders in college basketball last season.
NBAdraft.net – Joel Ayayi: Guard – Gonzaga
In the latest NBADraft.net mock draft, Gonzaga guard Joel Ayayi is projected to be selected by the Jazz with the 30th pick. Ayayi had an incredibly efficient year for Gonzaga, shooting 58 percent from the floor and 39 percent from the three-point as a guard.
I can't get enough of Joel Ayayi's cutting. Probably the most fun skill in the class for me.

Ayayi benefited from playing on a superstar roster at Gonzaga that fell one game short of winning a national championship but has proven to be able to handle the rigors of playing with and against top-tier talent at the NCAA level.
