SALT LAKE CITY – Want a chance to watch BYU football take on rival Utah, then the next day see Zach Wilson in his NFL debut? You’re in luck.
Wilson’s uncle, David Neeleman, the founder of JetBlue and Breeze Airways is giving fans a chance to check out both games.
Neeleman is chartering an entire 200 passenger JetBlue A320 plane that will fly from Salt Lake City to Charlotte, North Carolina, in time for Wilson’s presumed first start in the NFL against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 12.
The chartered flight will depart after the conclusion of the BYU/Utah game on Saturday, September 11.
Neeleman and his son, Seth, are calling this trip “The Wilson Weekend.”
The 2021 @BYUfootball schedule has officially been announced.

“Loving the passionate rivalry, and still having another nephew on the BYU team (linebacker, Josh Wilson), David searched for flights to be able to attend both events,” the event’s website reads. “No route or flight would solve the issue. The options were to either miss the BYU vs. Utah game or arrive late to the Jets game. Knowing he was not alone, David’s creative problem-solving kicked in. How could he make it to both events and also help provide an opportunity to others in a similar predicament? Understanding the impact that Zach has had on BYU and the state as a whole, chartering a smaller jet wouldn’t do. For this reason, he is chartering an entire 200 passenger Jetblue A321 so that this once-in-a-lifetime weekend could be shared with many more.”
