PROVO, Utah – Who else is ready to see a sellout crowd for a BYU football game again? After a year of games played in empty stadiums amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, a jam-packed venue for a college football game will be another sign normalcy is back.
BYU’s season opener against the Arizona Wildcats in the Pac-12 Conference is moving closer towards that sellout status.
55,000 tickets sold for BYU-Arizona! A sellout is coming! “Countdown to Kickoff” will be live with a two-hour special from inside Allegiant Stadium on Sept. 4. What a night it will be for #BYUFOOTBALL fans everywhere! #GoCougs pic.twitter.com/btFh38oeWB

BYUtv’s Dave McCann reported the latest update on ticket sales. The number of tickets sold to the Vegas Classic between BYU and Arizona is now up to 55,000. Allegiant Stadium, where the game will be played, has a capacity of 65,000 seats.
BYU Football fans are ready for a trip to Las Vegas
BYU fans have been excited about this game since tickets became available in April. The 12,000 tickets Allegiant Stadium and the Raiders provided to BYU were sold out in less than three hours. Tickets are still available through Arizona’s ticket office, starting as low as $81.
During BYU Football Media Day last month, McCann stated that September’s game in the desert could become the largest gathering of BYU fans outside the state of Utah in program history.
Knowing that this will be a massive gathering of BYU fans, BYU plans to hold a Fan Fest in Vegas. It’s the first in-person Fan Fest since 2019. The Vegas Fan Fest will occur at Craig Ranch Regional Park the night before the game on September 3rd from 6-8 p.m.
The kickoff for BYU and Arizona is set for 8:30 p.m. (MDT) on September 4th. ESPN will televise the game, and the radio broadcast will be heard on KSL NewsRadio.
