Utah Jazz Guard Miye Oni Earns Spot On Olympic Roster For Team Nigeria

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Miye Oni earned a spot on Team Nigeria’s 16-man roster for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Jazzman will compete for the Nigerian National Team during the Summer Games that run from July 23-August 8. Tokyo 2020 will be Team Nigeria’s third time playing in the Olympics.
Oni was one of 16 players to make Team Nigeria’s Olympic roster.
Former Jazz big man Ekpe Udoh also earned a spot with Nigeria.

Team Nigeria is currently preparing for Tokyo 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
About Miye Oni
Oni was born in Northridge, California to Nigerian parents Opeyemi and Oludotun Oni.
Before his time in the NBA, the guard played at Yale.
The Jazz selected Oni during the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft.

During his first two seasons with the Jazz, Oni has played in 64 regular season games, including one start. He’s also played in 10 playoffs games with Utah, 10 of which came during the 2020-21 postseason.
Oni owns career regular season averages of 2.2 points per game on 35.9 percent shooting. Last season, he averaged 1.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 9.6 minutes per contest.
