SALT LAKE CITY – Who knew there were people out there can solve a Rubik’s Cube. Let alone create works of art out of them.
What makes this even more impressive is that one of the art pieces is New York Jets QB and former BYU star Zach Wilson.
Rutgers University student Dylan Sadiq is a master in cubism art. He creates portraits of pro athletes with just Rubik’s Cubes. Sadiq takes requests from the pro teams and the New York Jets TikTok page hit him up asking for a Zach Wilson portrait, and sure enough, he delivered.

That’s impressive. If you’re anything like me, you’re now even more embarrassed that you haven’t been able to ever solve one of those dang cubes.
Zach Wilson is one of many pro athletes that Sadiq has put together in works of art with Rubik’s Cubes. He’s also made portraits of Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, New York Knicks forward Julius Randle, and locally Sixth Man of the Year award winner Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz.
Rubik’s Cube art from “The College Cuber”
Each one of Sadiq’s pieces weighs around 200 pounds with all of the Rubik’s Cubes he uses in the art portraits. As you see at the end of the Zach Wilson video, all of the cubes come tumbling down at the end to create a blank canvas for another work of art.
Known on social media as “The College Cuber,” Sadiq began gaining viral attention for his work on TikTok after creating a portrait of his favorite athlete, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic.
The portrait Sadiq used for Zach Wilson was a picture taken of the former BYU star during his Pro Day this past March. Wilson has since gone on to be the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and is now in a position to be the New York Jets starting quarterback for week one of the 2021 regular season.
