Utah Football Well Represented In Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Pac-12 Team

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah football team was well represented preseason All-Pac-12 team by Phil Steele that was announced on Wednesday.
Phil Steele does a preseason team for every conference in FBS in his college football preview magazine and he put 11 Utah players in 12 positions on his preseason All-Pac-12 team.
One player on offense was named to the first team and that was redshirt freshman offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea. Junior defensive end Mika Tafua and junior linebacker Devin Lloyd also made the first team. On special teams, junior Britain Covey was selected to the first team as a return specialist, as was sophomore kicker Jadon Redding.

Covey was named to the second team on offense as a wide receiver, along with junior tight end Brant Kuithe. Senior long snapper Keegan Markgraf was selected to the second team on special teams.
None of the Utah players made the third team but four players made the fourth team. Junior running back T.J. Pledger and junior center Nick Ford made it on offense, with junior linebacker Nephi Sewell and sophomore cornerback JaTravis Broughton getting selected on defense.
Utah will open the 2021 season on Thursday, September 2 against Weber State at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
