SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2020 Olympics will be the first to feature karate as an Olympic sport.

The sport will feature two separate events: the kata, which is a solo form of karate, and the kumite which focuses more on sparring.

NBC’s Rutledge Wood previews the event while trying to learn a little bit about the kata form.
