SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah Gymnastics head coach Tom Fardon announced that they have hired Jimmy Pratt as an assistant coach.

Jimmy Pratt brings 20 years of coaching experience to the Utah Gymnastics program, recently serving as an assistant coach at Denver. Before that, Pratt was coaching at All American Gymnastics in Lindon, Utah for 18 years. He will be the primary vault coach at Utah beginning immediately.

“Jimmy is an expert technician and has produced many top-level gymnasts,” said Farden. “I have known him for over a decade. His work ethic and enthusiasm for excellence is contagious, and we are ecstatic about him coming home and being an integral part of our program.”

While coaching at Denver, Pratt was the primary vault and floor coach where he led the Pioneers to a top 10 ranking on the floor in 2021 and vault in 2020. Pratt has coached All-Americans , including Lynzee Brown and helped Maddie Karr to a No. 4 national ranking on vault during the 2020 season.

During Pratt’s 18-year stint at All American Gymnastics, he was the head coach since 2011. He coached at both the Elite and Junior Olympic levels. Pratt coached Hunter Dula, MaKenna Merrell-Giles and Kim Tessen, who all received scholarships to Utah.
