SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Rudy Gobert crushed a shot attempt by Clippers forward Nicolas Batum during Game 3 between Utah and Los Angeles.

The Clippers hosted the Jazz at Staples Center for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday, June 12.

With 9:43 left in the third quarter, Batum drove towards the hoop before rising up for a would-be layup attempt.

The three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year swatted his countrymen’s attempt out of the air and into the hands of Donovan Mitchell.

At the time of Gobert’s block, the Jazz trailed the Clippers, 69-54.

This season, Gobert was a dominating force on defense and won his third Defensive Player of the Year honor earlier in June.

During the regular season, the center averaged 14.3 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game.

Through the first seven games of the NBA Playoffs, Gobert recorded 15.7 points, 13.9 boards, 0.9 assists, and 3.0 blocks per contest.

Utah’s game against Los Angeles is broadcast on ABC and 97.5 FM.
