Jazz Guard Donovan Mitchell Goes On Solo Scoring Burst Against Clippers

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell scored 16 straight points for the Utah Jazz during the second quarter of Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Clippers hosted the Jazz at Staples Center for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday, June 12.
After going scoreless on 0-3 shooting in the first quarter, Mitchell caught fire during the final 12 minutes of action before halftime.
During the final 7:34 of the second quarter, Mitchell scored 16 points in row for the Jazz, including 16 of Utah’s last 18 points of the half.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored Utah’s final two points of the half on a pair of free throws.
Mitchell finished the first half with a team-high 16 points on 6-13 field goals, including 4-6 from beyond the arc.

The fourth-year guard added three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 18 minutes on the court.

During the first two quarters, Utah shot 40.9 percent overall and 11-23 for 47.8 percent from downtown.

The Jazz allowed the Clippers to shoot 52.1 percent from the field, including 10-20 for 50.0 percent from distance.
Paul George led L.A. with 20 points on 8-16 shooting, including 4-7 on three-pointers.
