SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The USMNT doubled their lead against Costa Rica minutes before the halftime whistle when striker Daryl Dike slotted the ball home beating goalkeeper Leonel Moreira.
It is the first goal of Dike’s international career. One of just many more to come, one must assume.

The ball that led to the one-on-one opportunity was played by Mark McKenzie, the 22-year-old center-back who plays his club soccer for Belgium side Genk.
Prior to this match, Dike had only appeared in one other game for the USMNT. His debut came in January 2021 when he came off the bench in the USA’s routing of Trinidad and Tobago.
Following the conclusion of this game, the USMNT will go on vacation until earlier in July when they will return to prepare for their first CONCACAF Gold Cup Group Stage match on July 11th.
