James is starring in the upcoming Space Jam movie sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy.
The film is set to be released in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16.
LeBron James in No. 6
James began his career wearing No. 23 for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
After leaving for the Miami Heat in free agency, James wore No. 6 from 2010-14.
The NBA star returned to Cleveland in 2014 and wore No. 23 for the Cavs once again.
James left the Cavaliers and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. He wore No. 23 during his first three seasons with L.A.
2021 isn’t the first time James has tried to change his Lakers jersey from No. 23 to No. 6.
James previously tried to switch to No. 6 and give No. 23 to Anthony Davis in 2020, but the number change never took place after reportedly hitting a snag with Nike.

However, Davis will reportedly keep his current No. 3 jersey moving forward.
