Denver Nuggets Center Nikola Jokić Wins 2020-21 NBA MVP Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA announced Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić as the league’s Most Valuable Player for the 2020-21 season.
The league announced Jokić as the NBA MVP on Tuesday, June 8.
Jokić, who was drafted with the No. 41 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, is the lowest draft pick to ever win MVP.
During the regular season, Jokić averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

Jokić was the NBA’s 12th highest scorer this season.
He shot 56.6 percent overall and 38.8 percent on three-pointers.

Jokić led the Nuggets to a regular season record of 47-25 and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
The MVP helped the Nuggets defeat the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, 4-2.

Currently, Jokić and Denver trail the Phoenix Suns, 1-0, in the Western Conference Semifinals.
