Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant Embrace After Jazz Beat Grizzlies 4-1 In First Round

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz star Donovan Mitchell and Grizzlies guard Ja Morant shared a moment and embrace one another after Utah defeated Memphis 4-1 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Utah hosted Memphis at Vivint Arena for the third time in the series on Wednesday, June 2.
Mitchell and the Jazz beat Morant and the Grizzlies, 126-110.
After the game, the two budding stars embraced each other and had a conversation.

In addition to having a moment with Morant, Mitchell went and spoke with the Memphis star’s family.
Morant’s family was harassed by three individuals at Vivint Arena during Game 2 of the series.

The three people received bans from Vivint Arena following the incident.
The Jazz issued apologies to the Morant family and the Grizzlies. The organization and All-Star also spoke out against misconduct against players.

During the series, both Mitchell and Morant had special performances.
After missing Game 1 of the series, a game in which the Jazz lost, Mitchell led Utah to four consecutive wins.
In the four games, Mitchell averaged 28.5 points per contest.

The second-year Grizzlies star led Memphis to a Game 1 victory over the Jazz in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In Game 2, Morant scored a career-high 47 points.
Morant averaged 30.2 points per game during the five game series. That mark is the most by any player in Memphis’ history.

With the Game 5 win, Mitchell and the Jazz won the series, 4-1.
Utah will play either the Los Angeles Clippers or Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals.
